Job Duties
- Preparing the Vehicle: Prior to washing, you may need to prepare the vehicle by removing any loose debris such as leaves, dirt, or trash. This can be done using a brush or compressed air.
- Washing the Exterior: Use a hose or pressure washer to wet the vehicle’s exterior thoroughly. Apply a vehicle-specific soap or detergent using a sponge, mitt, or a soft-bristle brush. Scrub the vehicle gently, paying attention to areas with more dirt or grime. Rinse off the soap using clean water.
- Cleaning Wheels and Tires: Use a wheel cleaner or degreaser to clean the wheels and tires. Scrub them with a brush to remove brake dust, dirt, and grime. Rinse thoroughly.
- Drying the Vehicle: After washing, use a microfiber towel or chamois to dry the vehicle’s exterior. Start from the top and work your way down, ensuring all areas are dry properly.
- Detailing: As an additional service, you may be required to perform detailed tasks such as waxing, polishing, or applying protective coatings to enhance the vehicle’s appearance and protect the paint.
- Interior Cleaning: Some car wash facilities also offer interior cleaning services. This may involve vacuuming the carpets and seats, wiping down surfaces, cleaning windows and mirrors, and deodorizing the interior.
- Equipment Maintenance: It’s important to maintain and clean your washing equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning and longevity. This includes cleaning brushes, replacing worn-out parts, and checking for any leaks or malfunctions.
