COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
South Bay Vocational Centerís Individual Placement Program provides - services to over 40 individuals on an annual basis. This program promotes individuals placements for individuals with disabilities. South Bay Vocational Center will provide job coaching that will fade over time depending on the individualís capability and job performs. The referrals represent individuals with a wide range at disabilities including mental retardation, traumatic brain injury, blindness, visual impairment, physical disability, mental illness, and substance abuse. Jobs developed for individuals are wide ranging, examples are assembly positions, administrative assistant jobs, shipper-receivers, and grocery baggers.
ANTICIPATED PROGRAM OUTCOMES
Program participants will generally achieve a level of competence within a six (6) month to two (2) year time period that allows them to move forward on the continuum towards competitive work with a high degree of self-sufficiency. While the most appropriate step will depend on the characteristics of the individual, the options include:
1. Movement into a Competitive Work setting.
2. Continued enrollment in the Individual Placement Program with emphasis on specific work related behaviors and paid work.
